Some FREE places exist on MEDIA TRAINING courses being run by Sydney TAFE.
The courses (dates and length TBC) will run between March and November 2016 .
The course covers:
* How does the media work? What do they want? Radio/ TV/ Press – the key differences
* What makes a good story? How does RFDS fit that criteria?
* The anatomy of an interview – what is in a story, how does it break-down, how much time do I have?
* Soun]dbites – the art of succinct delivery
* Presentation skills – how to improve your media performance
* Interview preparation – what information do you need for your interview? Key/ secondary messages – what are they and how do you work them in?
Off-topic questions – what related and difficult questions could they ask about?
* Handling difficult interviews – topical issues, how to avoid being cornered by controlling the interview – the do’s and don’ts of handling difficult interviews.
Courses taught by broadcast professionals and supported by practical studio
exercises.
