KATE PENNINGTON FOUNDER OF BEYOND A JOKE INCORPORATED Kate has worked many years in long day care centres, pre-schools, kindergartens and managed Before and After school Centres as well as a Nanny agency. Furthering her skills, Kate studied adolescents with behavioural problems becoming a foster mother opening her home as emergency accommodation for adolescents who could no longer live at home. Kate created and built Beyond A Joke in her brother Bruce’s memory and to assist with teenagers facing bullying today. Due to Kate’s experience of becoming homeless due to severe workplace bullying she endured Kate now dedicates her life to helping both youth and adults experiencing bullying. Beyond A Joke is creating a domino effect of kindness throughout communities to outweigh the negative effects of aggression and bullying.

DR KATHERINE GILL B.Tech (Bio);B.Sc (Hons); M.O.T; Ph. D Dr Gill was voted Chairwoman of the Board of Beyond A Joke Incorporated in 2015. Dr Gill conducts research and evaluation to ensure the anti-bullying programs meet the needs of the community. Dr Katherine Gill is a registered Occupational therapist, specialising in Mental Health. She is currently employed as the Recovery and Wellness Manager in an Executive Leadership team. Dr Gill brings a wealth of knowledge to Beyond A Joke Incorporated.

TANJA LIMNIOS Managing Director at Thinkahead Consultant Psychologists Pty Ltd Tanja Limnios is a registered psychologist with a master’s degree in Organisational Psychology and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. She has over 20 years experience working with individuals, teams and organisations in both the private and public sector.

STEPHEN HOWALD Stephen is a highly experienced and qualified mental health/training professional. Stephen is a qualified Standard Mental Health First Aid instructor. He has delivered training and services in the mental health sector for over 20 years, he himself has a lived experience of mental health recovery and was ministerially appointed as an Official Visitor in 2016. Stephen is the founder and director of MENTOR+SUPPORT LTD. a consumer run mental health and peer support service.

TIM HEFFERNAN Tim is a well respected leader within the Mental Health and Wellness industry. Tim has also worked as a school teacher and will speak of bullying he witnessed in schools and the impacts this bullying had on children and how the impacts can continue into adulthood leading to mental health issues.
