This 3-day workshop equips participants with knowledge and skills to provide effective practice supervision.
Participants will be challenged to develop their philosophy, approach and supervision style within a reflective learning model, guided by principles of best practice in supervision.
Participants will have the opportunity to develop critical skills and knowledge including an understanding of the different types of supervision and identify what activities are not supervision.
Learning objectives
•Develop a philosophy of practice supervision, and identify how supervision is unique to other practice activities
•Reflect upon own supervision practice and identify the critical aspects of practice supervision
•Understand the supervision relationship and its impact on the experience of supervision
•Develop a framework for practice supervision informed by critical aspects and best practice
•Develop a tool box of skills and knowledge for supervision
•Understand the different types of supervision including individual, group, internal vs external, live supervision as well as SOS
•Work within a supervision structure, incorporating skills, knowledge, reflective learning, cultural awareness and ethics
