This 1-day workshop provides the skills and knowledge to work directly with people who may be suicidal, as well as the family, friends and significant others of the individual affected.

Explore the attitudes to suicide, as well as the myths and facts of suicidal behaviours and prevention.

Understand the links and myths of suicide in the context of mental health as well as the differences in suicide rates across social and cultural groups, as well as migrants, and the reasons why this may be.

Learning objectives
•Explore the myths and facts about suicide
•Learn to recognise warning signs and identify levels of risk
•Identify the principles of crisis intervention for people contemplating suicide
•Gain confidence in how to respond when in this situation
