About the role

Formed in 2015, the South Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (SEMPHN) is one of 6 primary health care networks in Victoria. It works with a wide range of stakeholders including GP’s, Local Hospital Networks and a broad range of private and public healthcare providers to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of medical services for patients and to improve coordination of care to ensure patients receive the right care in the right place at the right time. SEMPHN services a catchment of $1.4million Victorians across a broad area from St Kilda to Sorrento and as far east as Bunyip.
Reporting to the CEO and having regular dealings with the Board, the COO is a newly created position responsible for a comprehensive array of services and programs. Finance, Corporate Services, Systems Outcomes, Workforce Development and Innovation will all report to the role. A strong focus on evaluation, governance and risk management will be key.
To be considered for the position candidates need to be proven senior executives with solid commercial acumen and experience leading complex operations, ideally in a health/ human services environment.

Other attributes include:
• Strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide array of stakeholders.
• Extensive financial and business acumen including experience in the procurement of services; contract management, reporting and program measurement and evaluation.
• Strong people leadership skills including developing high performance and diverse teams; building capability, mentoring and coaching.
• Proven analytical and decision making skills with the ability to prioritise and communicate to staff key objectives necessary to achieve SEMPHN goals.
