The Organisation
Progressive Business (PB) is a membership, event and networking based association established to build relationships between the Victorian ALP Parliamentary Party and the business community.
Membership of PB is open to individuals and organisations seeking to contribute to progressive ideas and policies providing a platform to contribute to the policy agenda. PB builds strong relationships with business and governments resulting in exceptional networking opportunities for members with the political and business leaders of today and the future.
The Role
Working closely with the Executive Director, the Business Development Manager will take ownership of strategically sourcing new corporate membership, partnership and sponsorship opportunities from a range of industry sectors.
You will run the end-to-end sales process, starting from generating leads, building relationships, pitching and closing deals. Your success in the role will be measured and rewarded on new revenue brought to the Association. You will be supported by an enthusiastic committee, small staff and a pipeline of membership leads.
An attractive remuneration package including bonus will be offered to the candidate capable of meeting the demands of this opportunity.
You are a seasoned business development and sales professional with a career developed in, but not limited to, commerce, membership associations, politics, education or philanthropy. You have sound political judgment and a strong interest in public policy and Australian politics.
Skills Required
You’re well networked with the ability to liaise with key clients at all levels, highly organised, a strong attention to detail and able to thrive under pressure. Crucially you have;
- A proven track record of achieving new B2B (or equivalent) sales targets
- Goal oriented with excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- A high level of enthusiasm, strong integrity and enjoy working within a small team
- The ability to work with minimal supervision and to use initiative
- Computer literate with an ability to prepare & present new business reports
