The Organisation
Established 33 years ago, FRANS is a mid-sized organisation that primarily supports people with intellectual, cognitive and developmental disabilities of all ages. FRANS has a strong reputation as a leader in developing innovative support programs and of having an ability and willingness to successfully support people with multiple diagnoses and complex support needs.

The premise of our work is based on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and we pursue the convention’s objectives in the way we support people with disability and their families.

The Role
Reporting to the Executive Manager, Strategy and Communications, this is a unique opportunity for a professional fundraiser to work on developing and executing a new strategy to take fundraising at FRANS to a new level. Through nurturing relationships and building partnerships, you will arrive at a position to solicit larger gifts from public and private grant makers, while continuing to manage a successful grants program with some support from colleagues.

With your can-do attitude your role will include, but not be limited to:
 devising a new fundraising strategy in collaboration with the Executive Manager, Strategy and Communications;
 collaborating with colleagues in articulating funding needs and prepare a case for support;
 researching public and private grant makers with a view to building relationships;
 prepare and deliver proposals for sustainable and significant funding of programs;
 solicit a financial commitment at the opportune time (‘ask’);
 prepare and execute a stewardship program and cultivate relationships;

We are seeking a candidate who can hit the ground running with:
 experience in a fundraising and relationship management, perhaps in a junior role of a significant organisation;
 experience creating, managing and nurturing key professional relationships;
 outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
 strong reports writing and budgeting skills;
 proven ability to work on multiple projects; prioritise and meet varying deadlines;
 ability to work independently, as well as in a team;
 high level of attention to detail;
 willingness and aptitude to engage with people with intellectual disabilities;
 advanced proficiency in Microsoft office suite.
