About the role

Guide Dogs Victoria is an internationally respected non-profit organisation that provides both Guide Dogs and a wide range of mobility and specialist services for people of all ages who are blind and vision impaired, enabling them to reach their potential and fully participate in the community.

We are looking for that special person who has a genuine love and understanding of people (and dogs) to join our highly successful Bequest Team. You will need to be positive, mature-minded and committed to building strong relationships with our donors to inspire them to include gifts in their Wills to Guide Dogs Victoria.

This role will include nurturing our prospective and confirmed bequestors through personal donor engagement, so that each donor feels special, valued and connected to Guide Dogs Victoria.

The role will report directly into the Key Relationship Manager – Bequests and Estates, and will be a full time ongoing role.

You will need to be confident, tactful, patient, a skilled relationship builder, have selling skills and be a great administrator.

Our ideal team member would:

  • Have demonstrated fundraising experience with proven success in Relationship Management.
  • Be resilient, tactful, compassionate and empathetic, communicate well, whilst having the important ability to listen.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate well to people of varied ages and backgrounds especially people of a senior age.
  • Have the ability to develop and manage donor relationships mainly over the phone, through written contact and at organised events.
  • Be a self starter with the ability to work within a team
  • Have a sound knowledge of databases (ideally Salesforce)
  • Have excellent time management, organisational and planning skills, with the ability to be flexible, adapt to varying workloads, and to effectively manage multiple tasks.
