About the role
• A Truly Rewarding Leadership Role
• Strong Financial Position
• Organisation approaching its 100th Anniversary
Legacy was established over 90 years ago and to this day remains a charity providing services to Australian families suffering financially and socially after the death or incapacity of a spouse or parent, during or as a result of their defence force service. Melbourne Legacy Club is one of 49 nationally and consists of 8 metropolitan branches and 12 regional groups and is currently caring for more than 12,000 widows and 350 youth and dependants with disability. The organisation provides a range of services from counselling, pension advocacy and welfare support, through to financial assistance and social support.
Reporting to the Board of Management through the Chairman and President of the Club, you will be responsible for the leadership and sustainable financial management of the organisation. The role will lead a diverse range of stakeholder relationships from government, corporate partnerships, other ex-service organisations, right through to the significant number of volunteers. Employing a small and dynamic team you will further develop a culture whereby all staff are truly connected to their cause.
A committed and respectful leader, you have a reputation for providing clarity of direction and strong governance. You pride yourself on your outstanding financial acumen and have a proven track record for effectively managing budgets in service delivery environments. With empathy and a passion for helping those in need, you will ideally have a personal or family connection to the services; however, it is not mandatory.
