About the organisation

Organisation Name : Mercy Services

About the role

• Join a stable NFP organisation in a sound financial position

• Utilise your ‘change management’ & entrepreneurial expertise

• Enjoy working with a strategically thinking Board

Our Client, Mercy Services, provides holistic and proactive community and in-home support across various parts of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Lower Hunter region, as well as a residential aged care facility in Singleton. Their vision is to be a leading provider of compassionate care and quality services, excelling in the delivery, management and measurement of service and quality, and implementers of innovative and integrated care delivery models.

Due to the pending retirement of their long serving and highly respected CEO, who will be leaving the organisation in both stable organisational and strong financial positions, the Board is seeking to appoint a person with the experience & aligned personal and spiritual core values of Justice, Respect, Service, Care and Unity, combined with the capabilities to ensure the provision of compassionate, respectful, high quality and environmentally sustainable practices, to assume this critical role.

As the Aged Care, Community and Disability Service sectors are entering a phase of significant change, the role will require an experienced strategic thinking CEO who is able to manage the organisation throughout this period and to tactically plan for future growth.

Reporting to the Mercy Services Board and based in West Wallsend (Newcastle), the CEO will be fully responsible for reviewing established organisational structure, business plans and processes, team building and leading, external relationship management, policy development, resource and risk management, and ensuring operational efficiency. With a sound base of many long term, loyal staff with a wealth of knowledge, the opportunity to restructure and develop the individual ‘skill sets’ will be welcomed.

Applicants are expected to have demonstrated success at the level of CEO or functional General Manager, have transitioned an organisation through significant change and have proven commercial acumen and high-level financial capabilities, complimented by relevant tertiary qualifications. Strong leadership capabilities are also a must, as is the proven ability to communicate effectively and harmoniously at all levels.

Although previous experience within the Aged Care, Community &/or Disability sectors would be considered of great benefit, applicants from outside these sectors, with the above skills combined with an understanding of the structure of “Not For Profit” organisations and the ability to learn & grasp the intricacies of requesting and managing Government funding are encouraged to apply.

An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated commensurate with the high level of competency sought.

Applications for this opportunity close on 5.8.16 and should be forwarded quoting Ref. no. 885PB by email to executive@emeryhr.com.au

Highly confidential inquiries & requests for Position Descriptions are welcome & may be directed to Margo Emery on 0409 385667 or m.emery@emeryhr.com.au
