The Balnaves Foundation is a private family foundation which supports charitable organisations aimed at creating a better Australia through education, medicine and the arts with a focus on young people, the disadvantaged and Indigenous communities.

The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for an individual passionate about philanthropic funding to contribute grantmaking knowledge to one of Australia’s most significant private foundations. Your responsibilities will span three broad areas: administering the Foundation, managing the grantmaking process and identifying new grantmaking opportunities and initiatives.

Our client is looking for someone who is as comfortable and capable of working at a high level influencing strategy and giving, as they are in administration, conducting detailed research, due diligence and impact measurement.

You will have solid experience in a professional environment (corporate or private philanthropy) and a thorough understanding of grantmaking practices and processes. Experience in managing multiple and diverse relationships and facilitating value-based conversations with individuals and groups, including board members, grant recipients and other team members is essential.

You will be experienced in administrative activities that support the systematic and compliant operation of philanthropic structures. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly presentable and display a high level of professionalism and a commitment towards systems and procedures. You will work closely with the CEO to ensure the continued growth of The Balnaves Foundation and its philanthropy.
