The Role
Reporting to the Community Housing Operations Manager, you will be primarily responsible for managing anti-social tenant activity on behalf of the team and helping to improve community safety and the quality of life of our clients. You will mentor and support team members and effectively manage the issues relating to anti-social behaviour.

You will be responsible for managing appeals and investigating incidents of anti-social behaviour, taking statements and gathering evidence to assess any support needs, address the anti-social behaviour and promote positive outcomes. You will be partnering with various external organisations, support services, residents and community groups to help create a safe and secure environment.

 

The Right Person
You are highly-organised with strong communication skills and a good working knowledge of housing issues and relevant legislation. You are methodical with proven research and report writing skills and have a practical and logical approach to problem solving. Your experience with investigation, preparation and presentation of cases will prove invaluable as will your ability to negotiate and mediate conflict.

You are self- motivated, able to work on your own initiative, highly organised with the ability to effectively manage a busy workload with conflicting priorities and strict deadlines. You thrive off project coordination, and are committed to resolving anti-social behaviour issues in an effective and positive manner. Your highly advanced communication skills will ensure you develop excellent relationships with both internal stakeholders and relevant external groups.

You are eager to develop a career in community housing and have a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for our clients and community safety.

 

Essential Selection Criteria
• Previous experience in a similar position;
• Demonstrated ability to effectively plan and organise your own workload and establish priorities;
• Demonstrated application of effective and appropriate communication skills at a high level, including written skills, cultural sensitivity, listening and interviewing;
• Effective project management skills and the ability to deliver to tight deadlines;
• Previous experience in managing issues facing the social and community sector, including anti-social behaviour;
• Highly advanced report writing skills including briefing notes, letters to MPs and other formal correspondence;
• Current driver licence and right to drive in NSW;
• Strong computer literacy and confidence using software, devices and technology (Intermediate MS Office Excel and Word)
