RANSW offers expertise in counselling, mediation, dispute resolution, and relationship education. Backed by more than 60 years of clinical experience, we also offer accredited training programs through our higher education, training and research division, The Australian Institute of Relationship Studies (AIRS).

RANSW is undergoing an exciting growth stage. We are now looking for a Practice Specialist Group Work & Community to join the team. If you have a background in Psychology or Social Work related field and have managed, supported, and developed Relationship, Family Safety & Community Education programs on a state wide level, and would enjoy making a positive social impact through the work you do, this could be the right role for you!

 

About the role

The Practice Specialist Group & Community Work will:

  • Leading the professional workforce within RANSW
  • Ensure excellence in the implementation, supervision and development of relationship and community education
  • Design, develop and review of quality practice policies and practices to drive the implementation of best practice by RANSW staff
  • Influence and support the delivery of service excellence across the organisation
  • Articulate theories of change on which service delivery is designed; ensuring that services are benchmarked against research evidence
  • Lead the transfer of research into practice and policy in group & community education
  • Lead the professional development strategy for Team Leaders in the practice area
  • Ensure policies and procedures reflect best practice legislation
  • Working collaboratively with Managers to secure supervision resources to ensure excellent practices in their Centres
  • Provide expertise that assists with building skills, work with complex client circumstances, and actively support the supervision being provided within Centres.

 

About the successful candidate

This is a full time position and the successful candidate will have:

  • Qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Social Science, Welfare or related discipline, ideally to post graduate level that target the areas of group work and community education.
  • Supervision qualification, and a minimum 3-5 years supervision experience
  • Extensive expertise across a range of client services, particularly group and community educations in a range of relevant settings
  • Experience in a broad range of professional practice theory, governance and practice models aligned with RANSW frameworks.
  • A clear and current understanding of the professional and legal requirements relevant to the position
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation in service delivery
  • Proven ability to lead and influence staff and stakeholders, with confidence and inclusivity in the workplace
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – verbal and written including presentation skills
  • Ability to influence and advocate for clients and/or staff and with stakeholders in a professional manner
  • Planning, organisational and administrative skills, including computer skills
  • National Criminal History Check clearance
  • NSW Working with Children Check Clearance
