Slow School is a people-powered learning community dedicated to building purpose-driven and prosperous businesses that make the world a better place.

We serve independent facilitators, educators and professional service providers that are predominantly based in Melbourne. Our Slow Dinners are hosted at Mycelium Studios in Abbotsford, Melbourne and our Talk on Purpose events are hosted at various locations in Melbourne. We have an active and supportive community both online and offline and we are looking for a volunteer to help manage the community. You will be reporting to the founder of the school, Carolyn Tate.

Duties include the following:

Manage our monthly Slow Dinners in conjunction with the speaker
Manage other events/workshops (no more than one per month and optional)
Manage our website content updates
Manage our eventbrite page
Manage social media; Linkedin, Twitter and Facebook
Manage email enquiries/calls from the community
Produce and send out fortnightly newsletters
Source blogs and content from community members for publishing.

This is a great opportunity to belong to a thriving small business community and to develop your community management skills and expertise. There is also scope for you to use your creative juices to make the role your own.

The role can be performed at your home/office however attendance at dinners/events is required. As revenue for the school grows, this role may turn into a paid position. We are also open to discussing ways that we can pay you for sales/revenue generated.

In return for your contribution, Carolyn will provide the successful applicant with regular Purpose Coaching sessions to help you create your own purpose-driven enterprise as well as connect you to Slow School members.

The successful applicant must be willing to commit to this role for a period of 6 months from appointment. You will have the following attributes:

A fun and outgoing personality with a love of people
A passion for community building and co-operative learning
A belief in the purpose, principles and philosophy of the school
Great digital skills (eventbrite, wordpress, mailchimp, facebook, twitter, Linkedin)
An eye for detail and a commitment to service excellence
A creative and entrepreneurial streak.
