Our Mission / Objective

Over one in every ten people in NSW is a carer, an individual providing unpaid care and support to a family member or friend with disability, a mental illness, drug and/or alcohol dependency, chronic condition, terminal illness or who is frail. There are 857,200 unpaid family carers in NSW alone.

Forty per cent of primary carers in NSW care for more than 40 hours per week and one in three primary carers has been caring for ten years or more.

Unpaid family carers encounter one of the lowest rates of health and well-being in Australia, experience social isolation and do not participate in employment and education at the same rate as their peers.

We support carers.
