Our Mission / Objective

The Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria aims to prevent family violence and promote respectful relationships.

Our comprehensive approach focuses on addressing family violence by:

  • driving activity to prevent violence before it occurs

  • developing effective responses to support women and children who are experiencing violence

  • and reducing the long-term impact of violence on women, children and those who support them.

Our Services

Your donation would be used in a number of important ways to assist DVRCV to prevent family violence and promote respectful relationships.

We influence change through training, communications, awareness raising, research, advocacy, resourcing and programs.

We provide training to professionals and community members across prevention, risk assessment and protection.

We provide online resources to young people and anyone seeking to find out more about their situation

We educate the community about social and legal changes needed to improve responses to women and children experiencing family violence.

Our Beneficiaries

Every contribution makes a huge difference to the support and assistance we can provide women and children experiencing family violence; as well as our capacity to inform and equip professionals and the general community.

Many women and children in Victoria live with family violence:

A woman dies at the hands of a current or former partner almost every week in Australia. Some research suggests this rate is much higher;

One woman in three has experienced physical violence, since the age of 15;

Almost half of the women who experience violence by an ex-partner said children had seen or heard the violence;

One woman in four had experienced emotional abuse by a current or former partner.

Our Deductible Gift Recipient status with the Australian Taxation Office means that any donation, no matter how big or small, is tax deductible.
