Our Mission / Objective

At Enterprising Aardvark Counselling and Consultancy Inc. we provide free, counselling and assistance to people who have experienced complex early childhood trauma and sexual assault, as well as those people who care for and support them.

Many people in our community do not have access to the help they require and as a consequence, continue to deal with the debilitating effects of trauma and abuse on their own.

Our service is independent and able to offer individually negotiated assistance without lengthy or stressful assessments, unrealistic session limits or unhelpful diagnostic labels.

Our Services

We recognise the urgent need for flexible, long-term, individually tailored professional counselling and therapeutic support.

Our Beneficiaries

The whole community benefits from our service.  Unfortunately, abuse occurs and has an impact in all parts of our society.

Survivors can be our children, siblings, parents, friends, neighbours and the stranger we walk by.

Sexual assault, physical violence, emotional abuse and coercive control can lead to overwhelming impacts in peoples lives, especially if those harms started when someone was young, there was more than one perpetrator and there was no available option of assistance.

Those benefiting immediately from our service are survivors but the flow on impact to the community is immeasurable.

We  can work with anyone who has experienced trauma.

Projects in Progress

in the 2019/2020 financial year we ran the service on just $12,500 and provided over $110,000’s worth of specialised therapeutic counselling  to Survivors.   We receive no regular funding.

Our current focus is finding a way to secure regular funding.

To complete our project we need to receive at least $200,000 per year to employ 2 full-time staff.  That’s an equivalent of 400 people to donate $10 a week.

We also need people willing to assist us with grant writing, introducing us to local businesses for sponsorship and philanthropic help.

We would welcome any finanicial assistance or gift assistance.

100% of all donations will run the service for clients.

General Donations

We are seeking donations and sponsorship from all areas of the community.  For the first 18 months we donated all costs for the service.  We now have enough regular donors to cover basic running costs (rent, power, insurances and indemnities, client fund etc.).

Our aim is to provide two full time workers to survivors in the community and have estblished there is a high need in the area.  There is a current service gap in the north of Tasmania for children and adults.  We hope you can help.

Other support

We would welcome any assistance to help us increase our regular donation base.

If you have wide social networks of people who are keen to assist a charity like ours or have skills in reaching people who are keen to increase their social justice impact in their community, we’d love to hear form you.

Thank you for considering us as part of your giving portfolio.
