How to help us
Wills and Bequests
From our earliest days, our organisation has been the recipient of generous bequests and gifts from individuals. Through the decades, their generosity and foresight have become an integral part of the Helping Hand story.
The decision to leave a gift or bequest is a wonderful gesture. We would be truly honoured (and humbled) if you were considering acknowledging Helping Hand in your will in this way.
There are a number of ways you can leave a gift or bequest to Helping Hand:
- A specific bequest – you may wish to nominate a particular asset such as property or land, life insurance, shares, investments, works of art or other valuables.
- A residuary gift – a share of your estate after all other commitments have been settled
- A pecuniary legacy – a donation of a sum of money
If you are thinking of leaving a bequest to Helping Hand, please call us on 1300 653 600
General Donations
Established in 1953, Helping Hand is trusted South Australian not-for-profit organisation.
Every year, we positively impact on the lives of more than 7000 older South Australians across metropolitan Adelaide and regional South Australian.
Every day, we create communities and experiences to enable older people to live their best lives.
As an accredited aged care provider, Helping Hand receives Federal Government funding and there are specific guidelines on where we can allocate these funds. As a result, fundraising, donations and bequests play a much-appreciated role in helping us creating meaningful experiences for older South Australians and their families.
All donations over $2 to Helping Hand are tax deductible.
You can also contact us on 1300 653 600 to organise a donation over the phone or by mail.

Tovertafel
Once you have seen the Tovertafel in action, you will never forget it. Tovertafel is an interactive projector that is designed for people living with dementia and encourages them to play, engage and connect. Tovertafel stimulates physical, social and cognitive activity and can be shared with family and friends of every age, including children.
In 2019, the Auxiliary group at Ingle Farm Residential Care raised $15,000 to purchase and install a Tovertafel console for their residents. The response and the joy it brings people has inspired Helping Hand to embark on its own fundraising campaign to purchase a Tovertafel at eight residential care homes.
To make this happen, we need to raise $120,000. Every donation will bring us a step closer to bringing the magic of Tovertafel to our residents.

Buy an experience
Donations to our ‘Buy an experience’ campaign go towards creating memorable and meaningful experiences for people in our care. It could be a trip to the beach, a meal in a restaurant or going to a concert or a footy match. The choice of experience is always up to the client, and your donation helps us make it a reality for them.
For someone who is not able to fund the experience themselves, the generosity behind each donation adds so much to the experience itself.
‘Buy an experience’ is available to everyone who receives services from Helping Hand – whether they are living in our residential care homes, our retirement villages or receiving help at home through our Home Care services. You decide where your donation goes.
