Our Mission / Objective

Our mission is to provide ‘each child every opportunity’ in early childhood to develop their abilities to meet life’s challenges and opportunities and to reach their unique potential – whatever their background or circumstance.

About The Infants' Home (TIH)

The Infants’ Home is a leading provider of early childhood education and care, early intervention and health services for children and families throughout Sydney’s Inner West, Northern Beaches and South Sydney. One third of our services are targeted to children who have additional needs and/or who are living in vulnerable or disadvantaged circumstances including from disability, neglect, impact of drug affected parenting, domestic violence or relationship and mental health challenges. Each year we provide services for over 2,200 children and their families, 700 of whom are children at risk.

The core of our work is protecting children at risk and strengthening families where there is a vulnerability from the presence of these risks.  We support and guide families to build their strength, skills and confidence to create a more positive future for themselves.

We achieve this by integrating services to address complex issues in a coordinated manner to improve educational and social outcomes for both children and families. Our services include:

  • Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) – Early Learning Centres and Family Day Care

  • Early Intervention (Therapy services, family support, playgroups and parent education)

  • Specialist health services (GP clinic, Allied health clinics, postnatal early childhood health clinics)

The Infants’ Home is a proven agent of positive social change in Sydney’s Inner West
