Our Mission / Objective

MS Research Australia aims to accelerate Australian MS research toward the prevention, better treatments and a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.

MS Research Australia is the largest national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to funding, coordinating, educating and advocating for MS research as part of the worldwide effort to solve MS.

MS Research Australia was awarded the 2017 Telstra Australian Charity Award and the Telstra NSW Business of the Year. For further information visit www.msra.org.au

Multiple sclerosis affects more young Australians than any other neurological condition. It is a chronic and often disabling disease that randomly attacks and scars the protective insulation (myelin) that surrounds nerve fibres in the brain and spinal cord.

  • Over 25,600 Australians have MS and approximately 2.3 million people worldwide
  • 3 out of 4 diagnosed are women
  • MS is most commonly diagnosed between the ages of 20 to 40

Projects in Progress

Each year MS Research Australia holds a grant round to select only the top MS research projects to fund. Further information about the comprehensive grant review process is available on the website www.msra.org.au.
