Projects in Progress
1. The Australian Women's Archives Project to ensure the contribution Australian women have made to society is recognised, protected and accessible.
2. Social Policy Committee in 2007-08 initiated a new debate on paid maternity leave and promoted pay equity. In 2011-12 its focus is on arrangements to strengthen women’s workforce attachment including:
- Child care and OSHC
- the outcomes of the Henry Review relating to tax and superannuation
- opportunities for training and retraining leading to jobs for women, including mature age workers
Women’s health issues including abortion law reform
Housing security
Policies bearing on older women
