Our Mission / Objective

OzHarvest is Australia’s leading food rescue organisation on a mission to ‘Nourish our Country’ by stopping good food from going to waste and delivering it to charities that help feed people in need. OzHarvest’s yellow vans are out and about in communities every day, collecting quality surplus food from a network of donors, including supermarkets, cafes, delis, restaurants, corporate kitchens, airlines, hotels and other food businesses. Through their education programs and our advocacy work, OzHarvest hopes to inspire others to change behaviour and help reach the national target of halving food waste by 2030.

Our Services

  • Education – Education is crucial to OzHarvest to help enable positive change. Our education goal is to strengthen community connections, improve life skills, and increase healthy eating and food waste awareness with a range of programs to inspire primary school kids, ‘at risk’ youth and families in need.
  • Food Rescue & Relief – Feeding hungry people and stopping good food from going to waste underpins everything we do. Through food rescue operations and food relief services, we are building a sustainable food culture where everyone can access a fresh, nutritious meal.
  • Sustainability – At OzHarvest, our goal is to advocate, inspire and influence others to halve food waste by 2030, collaborating with industry and Government and raising awareness through our work in the media. Our sustainability strategy aims to educate the community about how to fix our broken food system.

Our Beneficiaries

OzHarvest is committed to helping vulnerable people by delivering delicious, nutritious food to charities across Australia that feed those in need.

Starting with one van in Sydney back in 2004, OzHarvest has grown to become a national charity. 175 million meals later, it was obviously a good idea!
