Our Mission / Objective

The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation is a charity dedicated to supporting the medical research community based at The Prince Charles Hospital. Operating since 1986, they have had a long-standing commitment to improving patient care through supporting medical discoveries and innovations. In 2015, they launched their initiative The Common Good; a modern crowd funding platform to reach a wider audience and help them achieve their goal of giving $5 million a year to medical research by 2018.

The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation believes we can all contribute to the common good, one medical discovery at a time, and for just $44 an hour they help support some of the greatest medical minds in Australia. There are four major focuses for their funding – heart disease, lung disease, dementia and arthritis – although their structure also includes initiatives such as New Investigator grants, which help young researchers to kick-start their career and secure funding that otherwise wouldn’t be possible for them.

How to help us

Wills and Bequests

One of the most important ways you can support The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation is to remember us in your Will.

Bequests (gifts in Wills) are one of the most important sources of funding for the Prince Charles Hospital Foundation. You too could help The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation in this way – but first you need a Will. Your Will is the only way to guarantee that people and causes you care for in your lifetime will be looked after when you have gone.

Making a Will is a personal responsibility no matter how young or old you are or how much or how little you think you have to leave. Some of the bequests that have been left to the Foundation include cash, shares, property, and personal items such as jewellery.

Naturally, you will wish to ensure that your family is provided for first. After this you may decide that a gift to support research at The Prince Charles Hospital is a way of giving back to the community for years to come.

When you include a charitable bequest in your Will, you can have a lasting impact on other people’s lives.

HOW WILL YOU HAVE A LASTING IMPACT?

Volunteer with us

Time is one of the most precious things we have. We all wish we had more. So we recognise that the gift of time is valuable.

Volunteering is a great way to help us make the world better. We have a small team, so we rely on generous volunteers to give us a hand around the hospital, at our events, in our office, for our fundraising activities, and for special projects.
