Our Mission / Objective

Reservoir Neighbourhood House Inc is an incorporated not-for-profit community organisation and one of a number of Community/Neighbourhood Houses and Learning Centres in the local Darebin area. RNH’s mission is to provide a welcoming community space that fosters and promotes the prosperity and wellbeing of local residents. We bring people together to develop and encourage employment prospects, support health and wellbeing and enhance belonging. The Reservoir Neighbourhood House is a place where everyone is welcome to learn and actively participate in building their community life.

The board meets every month when decisions need to be made, commencing in February each year with meetings generally limited to 2 hours and held at the House.

Cooking healthy, affordable meals with Corina. Thursday Fortnight (Pension Day) 10am – 12pm Cost: $5 per class.

BYO craft work, or participate in a guided project such as; card making, fabric painting, beading, etc. facilitated by Rachel. Wednesdays 1pm – 3pm Cost: Gold Coin Donation.

Names of Board Members

Jacqueline Guiliani – Chair of the board, legal and corporate governance

Jacqueline is a legal practitioner who has a Bachelor of Law/Bachelor of Finance(LLB/BFin) and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.

Angie Davidson Slater – Coordinator & policy sub-committee

Angie has an Adv. Dip in Community Sector Management, Certificate IV Governance and Diploma in Community Welfare Work. Currently completing a Bachelor of Arts (Community Development).

Stephan S – Deputy chair, innovation, technologies & pathway portfolio

Stephan has a PhD in Interactive Media; Bachelor of Arts; Advanced Diploma Professional Writing & Editing; Diploma of Vocational Education & Training; Certificate IV Workplace Training & Assessment; Certificate English Language Teaching to Adults. Stefan is a researcher at Victoria University and is co-founder of The Lab, a national network of technology clubs for young people with autism. He has also worked as a TAFE teacher, musician, ESL teacher, copywriter, in the not-for-profit sector and as a producer and project manager in the Internet industry.

Jian Xiao – Treasurer

Jian has a Bachelor in Economics from Renmin University in Beijing. She is very passionate around the issue of integration into society for older migrants. Her bilingual skills and own experience has assisted many older migrations from China getting more involved in various community events.

Joy Stevenson – Secretary & membership sub-committee 

Joy is a Primary School Teacher and Community Development Worker. She has been involved with Neighbourhood Houses all her working life. She has taught at schools in the Northern Territory, and worked in Women’s Services, Housing Services and Community Information Services.

Donna Swan – General member & membership sub-committee 

Donna brings a diverse range of experience and qualifications from across the arts, health, education and Not for Profit Sector. She holds a Masters in Film and Television (VCA), B.A in Politics, Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment and a Graduate Diploma in Facilitation (from the Group Work Institute).

Kristine Olaris – General member

Kristine has a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master of Health Administration. She has worked in the health sector for many years particularly community health and more recently women’s health. Kristine’s work has focused on addressing barriers to health and well being for people from a range of social and cultural backgrounds. She is passionate about addressing social justice issues with an equity approach. She is currently the CEO of Women’s Health East.

Jonathan Halaliku – General member

Jonathan currently practises as a Principal Urban & Regional Planner at a private urban planning consultancy. Jonathan has a Bachelor of Business (Applied economics & International Trade) (B.Bus) and a Graduate Certificate (G.Cert) & Graduate Diploma (G.Dip) in Urban Planning. Jonathan has obtained a Master’s Degree Majoring in Environmental & Urban Planning (Mssc.). Jonathan is currently completing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB). Jonathan is full member of the Planning Institute of Australia (MPIA) and Member of the Victorian Planning & Environmental Law Association (MVPELA). Jonathan advises and represents the suite of stakeholders within the urban and regional planning sphere including Government, community stakeholders and private developers within Victoria and across Australia.

Volunteer with us

Ever considered volunteering? Want to be involved but not quite sure what you want to do?
Well, come along to the Reservoir Neighbourhood House and ask us about volunteering opportunities available for you at the House or in the wider local area. Alternatively, come along to one of our morning teas and have a chat to other community volunteers about how to get involved. Our Morning Tea is held at the House between 10am-12pm, on the last Tuesday of every month.

We are seeking volunteers to assist with all areas of our operations including administration, house and garden maintenance, facilitation, tutoring, gardening, event and fundraising assistance, food and kitchen duties (regular and special events).
