How to help us
Wills and Bequests
Resthaven was established by the Methodist Church in 1935, as the world emerged from the Great Depression. It’s aim then, as now, was to provide care and support for older people. Today, funding from governments is limited.
Resthaven welcomes legacies and bequests in memory of loved ones who found a ‘haven of rest in the eventide of life’. Donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Your gift can make a lasting difference. If you would like to discuss a bequest or make an In-Memoriam Gift, please contact David Norton,
Executive Manager, Finance and Corporate Services

Volunteer with us
Volunteering has been at the heart of Resthaven from the very beginning– the dream and vision that started in 1935.
The first practical outcome occurred when Mrs Annie Pearce and Reverend John Pearce took an elderly lady into their care at their home.
Resthaven volunteers are integral to providing services for residents and clients. They make a real difference in providing that extra level of care and support. Resthaven acknowledges and values the skills, knowledge, time and commitment of volunteers. Volunteers contribute to the achievement of Resthaven’s purpose in providing support that promotes independence, community involvement, dignity and integrity.
We welcome enquiries about volunteering with us.
