Our Mission / Objective

At the Royal Flying Doctor Service (South Eastern Section), we provide lifesaving aeromedical and primary healthcare services to rural, regional and remote communities across Australia.

Our Services

Our devoted frontline teams work tirelessly 24/7 to provide assistance to around 50,000 patients each year, stretching across the furthest corners of NSW and ACT. Your impactful gift, no matter the size, can help us plan with confidence and overcome barriers to ensure that no patient is out of our reach.

  • Emergency Retrieval
  • Maternity and Child Healthcare
  • Dental Care
  • GP Clinics

How to help us

Wills and Bequests

At the Royal Flying Doctor Service (South Eastern Section), we have a sincere appreciation for those who have made the big-hearted decision to leave a gift in their Will to us. In 1928, our founder Rev. John Flynn was able to make his vision of a revolutionary aeromedical service come to life thanks to a gift in a Will from his dear friend, Hugh McKay. Nearly 100 years later, Hugh’s generosity lives on saving countless lives and helping rural, regional, and remote communities across Australia thrive.

Your support will help us ensure that every Australian, regardless of location, has access to our lifesaving medical services and specialist care, including dental, mental health, and chronic disease management.

We would love the opportunity to speak with you confidentially about your decision and to answer any questions that you may have. Your support has never been more important than it is now.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with Cristina Caamano, our Gift in Wills Senior Coordinator, via phone: 0448 280 193 or email: cristina.caamano@rfdsse.org.au.

Volunteer with Us

The RFDS is part of the communities it serves and Australians everywhere find ways to be involved. Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers we can minimise administration costs and invest more in delivering healthcare in rural and remote communities. The contribution our volunteers make is essential and highly valued.

Would you like to be an office volunteer?

In the city, volunteers assist in the Sydney office through administrative support, which enables us to keep office costs down.

Would you like to be a volunteer speaker?

Members of our volunteer speaker program share stories about the RFDS at community events and clubs, with many telling first-hand about how they, or people they know, have been helped.

To express your interest in volunteering, please email enquiries@rfdsse.org.au – Please include your name, location, contact details, and how you are interested in helping.
