Our Mission / Objective

Scleroderma Australia has been incorporated since 2005 to facilitate a national representative voice in supporting the Scleroderma community across Australia. Delegates from the states make up our governing Committee.

Our Services

Scleroderma Australia aims to support people living with Scleroderma and raise awareness and funds for research. Our organisation’s key goals are to:

  • Coordinate and promote scleroderma awareness across Australia
  • Increase community support and engagement for people with scleroderma and their families
  • Advocate for people with scleroderma for improved patient outcomes
  • Coordinate funding for scleroderma research across Australia
  • Support state associations to provide successful and sustainable outcomes.

Projects in Progress

Scleroderma Australia is supported by a range of medical professionals that provide valuable advice and information on matters such as content for our brochures, data and statistics and attendance at events and seminars.

The Australian Scleroderma Interest Group (ASIG) is a collaboration of rheumatologists who operate multidisciplinary scleroderma centres around Australia. They aim to improve the outcomes of people with scleroderma through a screening program for the heart and lung complications of scleroderma. They undertake a comprehensive research program for aspects of the diseases, based on the Australian Scleroderma Cohort Study.
