Our Mission / Objective

Time for Kids is a not for profit organisation with a mission to create opportunities for children to achieve their full potential by providing volunteer care, enriching experiences and positive role models that support them in overcoming disadvantage.

Time for Kids is a South Australian early intervention service established in 1960 to prevent disadvantaged children from entering the juvenile justice system.  Today, we continue to work with children who experience chronic disadvantage and are high in the risk factors associated with youth offending and poor life outcomes.

Our Services

Our core program matches children in need with individuals and families who play a significant role in their life over many years, complementing and adding to our children’s existing family structures. Once matched, a child will most commonly spend a weekend a month living with their ‘Time for Kids family’ until they reach adulthood.  Our carers become aunts and uncles, big brothers and sisters, providing much-needed respite as well as positive role models and the practical and emotional supports that enable our children to thrive.

This unique program of long-term, ‘respite relationships’ opens a doorway on experiences and opportunities that otherwise wouldn’t be available to our children.  This builds children’s resilience and capacity to respond positively to the challenges in their lives, empowering and equipping them to set and achieve alternative aspirations and to build life success.

Time for Kids also delivers a growing suite of supplementary services designed to create new opportunities for our children, mitigate the impacts of poverty and disadvantage on their development and support their full-time families to meet their material and emotional needs.

General Donations

We are always raising funds to continue our work.  Time for Kids has multiple options available for one-off and recurring donations. You can donate via the Donate button to the left of our website, through fundraising platforms GiveNow and everydayhero, or for those of you on the go you can download the GiveEasy app for your iPhone or Andriod (search “Time for Kids”). Alternatively you can call us about setting up direct debits from your nominated account or credit card, arranging an electronic funds transfer, or write us a cheque made out to ‘Time for Kids Inc’. Or donate via our gift shop, www.timeforkids.com.au/shop

Other support
