Impact Series: A conversation with Adam Miller

Details

“Medical cannabis is becoming more and more of a legitimate industry” says, Adam.

Adam Miller is leveraging his skills in tech to bring this medicine to the forefront of peoples’ minds.

The cannabis industry is tipped to be worth more than a billion dollars in Australia in the coming years, and Miller says it’s set to be a booming space for local startups, and now is the time to get on board.

Join us in a Conversation with Adam Miller around how perspectives towards this controversial medicine are shifting, how he is using tech to change the way we think, and what the future holds for the industry once it launches in Australia.

About Adam Miller

Adam has been working in the medical cannabis space since last year due to his passion for this medicine and belief in technology helping facilitating it’s growth. His group, BuddingTech has been interfacing and educating the tech, medical, agricultural and regulatory communities in order to help develop Australia’s medical cannabis software / technology eco-system.

In January 2016 BuddingTech, in partnership with MGC and the University of Sydney Business School, developed a position paper on how Australia could best regulate medicinal cannabis. The groups have continued the program with the university and have recently finished working with their third group of students on an additional medical cannabis research paper.
Adam believes technology and education will play critical roles in the development of the space. Thus he believes the pursuit to develop technology to assist with the distribution of education will lead to the creation of a favourable social, economic and legal environment.
