This Masterclass presented by Professor Stephen Smallbone will address the question of how child sexual abuse might be ‘designed out’ of child-serving organisations. The presentation will begin by establishing the empirical and conceptual foundations for understanding and preventing sexual abuse in organisational settings – who is involved, and where, when, how, and why it occurs. It will then briefly review public health and crime prevention models. Situational prevention concepts and methods will be introduced as a practical approach to preventing sexual abuse.
The Masterclass is intended to meet the strategic responsibilities and interests of Board Members, CEO’s and executive managers of services involving children.
