2020 is expected to bring more change to the NFP sector, hear from Mel Yates, Director of Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) who will give a broad update including:

  • Regulatory changes including DGR reforms
  • Upcoming changes to ACNC reporting and the ACNC register
  • Financial reports – issues from the Regulator’s perspective
  • Compliance – what’s the current focus?
  • Resources and tools your organisation may find useful, and
  • A question and answer forum.

 

Meet the speaker:
Mel Yates is the Director of Reporting, Red Tape Reduction and Corporate Services at the ACNC. Prior to this, Mel worked at the Australian Taxation Office for over a decade across compliance, internal policy & assurance as well as operational financial management and government tax management roles. Mel has previously worked for the Victorian Government in a finance related function and began his career at a large professional services firm. After graduating from University Mel travelled and worked in England in a Social Services finance role. Mel is currently a Victorian Divisional Councillor and Chair of the Victorian Division Public Sector & Not-For-Profit Committee at CPA.
