Melbourne Women’s Fund’s inaugural Forum topic is “Women’s Economic Empowerment – Realities and Challenges for the Future”.

We understand that investing in women’s economic empowerment sets a direct path towards gender equality, poverty eradication and inclusive economic growth.This topic has overarching impact on multiple areas of disadvantage affecting women and families and this year we will be placing an economic empowerment lens on Family Violence and Homelessness.

We are delighted to announce the following expert speakers with Emeritus Professor Gillian Triggs as the Keynote speaker. Panellists include: Catherine Brown CEO, LMCF; Mary Crooks AO, Executive Director of VWT; Sandie de Wolf AM, CEO Berry Street; Prof. Ann Taket, Deakin University; Fiona McCormack CEO, Domestic Violence Victoria; Jeanette Large CEO Women’s Property Initiatives; Jenny Smith CEO, Council to Homeless Persons; Dr Heather Holst Dep.CEO & Director of Services & Housing, Launch Housing; Trish O’Donoghue Chief Projects Officer, Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre. Thanks to Lina Caneva, Editor of Pro Bono for acting as our Facilitator for the panel discussions.
