Pitch with Passion & Purpose

Details

A convincing pitch is a powerful tool to unlock opportunities, form relationships, attract funding, and inspire new audiences. No matter what sector you’re working in, your future could depend on the quality of your spiel and a single pitch could really be “make or break”.

At The Funding Network (TFN), our mission is to enable grassroots non-profits and purpose-driven businesses to access the capital, skills, connections and resources they need to thrive. We’ve run Pitch Coaching Workshops for hundreds of social entrepreneurs. The result? They’ve dramatically increased their ability to engage new supporters, and they’ve gone on to generate millions of dollars.

We’re partnering with the Sydney School of Entrepreneurship to deliver an “express version” of our half-day pitch coaching workshops. This seminar will be an immersive experience for participants, covering a dynamic mix of communications theory as well as practical lessons, case studies, storytelling, and a focus on ‘why’ people respond to a pitch.

What the seminar will cover:

  • How to develop a clear understanding of the organisation’s story – your “why”
  • Audience analysis and creating targeted responses that will resonate
  • How to map your narrative to sharpen the pitch
  • How to authentically tell your story for maximum impact

Who should attend this event?

At The Funding Network, we typically run our Pitch Coaching Workshops for social entrepreneurs and people working in the for-purpose space. As part of Spark Festival, we’re opening the doors to anyone who needs to sharpen their presentation skills and deliver an impactful and memorable pitch.

The seminar will help turn your thinking into a clear and memorable story. Better yet, it will give you the skills and confidence to put your narrative out in the world with greater precision, helping you to succeed.

Tea, coffee and a light breakfast will be served.

Here’s what our pitch coaching participants have to say:

“TFN’s pitch coaching has had an immense impact across all our marketing communications including collateral, pitching at other events and simply talking to potential supporters over coffee. I have no doubt the tips on clarifying and delivering a succinct, focused narrative have directly contributed to our capacity to obtain additional funding.” – Nick Harrington, Founding Director, Manjeri

“TFN’s pitch coaching was absolutely invaluable. It really helped us drill down into our story and get the message clear. I think it’s fair to say the confidence we got from improving our pitch has so far helped us secure up to $100,000 in extra funding.” – Cathy Murdoch, CEO, Milk Crate Theatre

“TFN’s pitch coaching crystallised our key messages, which not only lead to a great financial outcome on the evening but has empowered us long term to be able to showcase our work to other potential partners. If you ever are lucky enough to have the opportunity to engage with TFN, I would strongly recommend grabbing it with both hands.” – Garry Thomson, CEO, Uplifting Australia
