TFN Live Adelaide – Live crowdfunding to tackle homelessness

You’re invited to attend our very first Adelaide event, taking place on Thursday 14 November at U City in Adelaide CBD.

In partnership with the Don Dunstan Foundation, the event will focus on supporting people at-risk of, or on their journey out of homelessness. Thank you to Macquarie for generously providing match funding.

Please note that 10% of funds raised is retained by TFN in agreement with the NFPs pitching as a contribution to our operational costs.

Project #1: The GOGO Foundation

Driven by its vision to create an equitable and inclusive society, The GOGO Foundation provides pathways to meaningful employment for people facing homelessness through a unique program of training, mentoring and skills development. Through finding meaningful work, people at risk of homelessness gain confidence, capability and independence. The GOGO Foundation will be pitching for funding to run a pilot program which creates employment opportunities for people facing homelessness through a unique 12-week program. Meet the presenter: Sarah Gun, CEO, The GOGO Foundation
Sarah is the CEO and founder of The GOGO Foundation, as well as an award-winning social innovator. Through her work at The GOGO Foundation, she has created over 750 job outcomes for 85 individuals who are on their journey out of homelessness. Sarah is a 2017 Westpac Social Change Fellow and 2018 SA Australia Day Award Winner.

Project #2: JusticeNet SA

JusticeNet is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of low-income and disadvantaged South Australians who need help with serious civil law problems. In partnership with an extensive network of volunteer lawyers, JusticeNet provides a ‘safety net’ for those who cannot afford legal help or obtain assistance elsewhere. JusticeNet will be pitching for funding to provide outreach legal services to people experiencing homelessness in Adelaide. Find out more: justicenet.org.au

Meet the presenter: Tim Graham, Executive Director, JusticeNet SA
Tim has 17 years’ legal experience, including a decade as Executive Director and Principal Solicitor of JusticeNet. Tim has practiced law in South Australia and Tasmania, including stints in local and State Government. Before the law, Tim worked in the not-for-profit sector. Tim is a member of the Law Society’s Justice Access Committee.

Project #3: Puddle Jumpers

Puddle Jumpers is a non-profit dedicated to providing opportunities and support for vulnerable children and families, including those at risk of homelessness, through camps and recreational activities designed to promote personal, social, cultural growth and development. These programs are designed to empower young people to develop social, communication, cooperation, team building, conflict management and problem solving skills. Puddle Jumpers will be pitching for funding to launch two additional camps that will allow currently waitlisted children to participate in these experiences. Find out more: puddlejumpers.org.au

Meet the presenter: Melanie Tate, CEO and Founder, Puddle Jumpers
Melanie is an experienced CEO, founder, inspirational speaker and social entrepreneur with a proven history of working in non-profit management. She founded Puddle Jumpers in 2012 to fill service gaps for vulnerable children and families, and has worked in a number of recreational programs supporting at-risk young people, children and families, and people experiencing homelessness.
