There is an exciting full time opportunity to have a career with purpose assisting the CEO to further develop the important mission of global environmental sustainability from the Australian head office.
The Opportunity
As this is a small office you should never get bored as there is always a new task to attend to or solution to provide. One day you may be greeting people as they come for meetings and the next you may be sitting on the Finance and Risk committee. But some of the more important aspects of this role are being able to:
- Take control of all aspects of the office administration and co-ordination
- Exercise your financial acumen when liaising with the external accountants
- Co-ordinate the HR policies and process e.g. admin, recruitment, WorkCover etc.
- Ensure all volunteers and interns are on-boarded and engaged
- Be part of a continuous improvement culture
The Person
It goes without saying that your passion for environmental sustainability and science will be highly regarded. You would also have had a reasonable amount of experience managing a small office environment before. Ideally you’ve worked in the Not for Profit sector, but the right mind set, maturity and willingness to learn will also be well regarded. Some other attributes that will be very important are:
- Ability to work in a small team as well as be self-motivated and show initiative.
- Be highly organised and be able to administrate board meetings
- Have well developed IT knowledge and skills (MS Office)
- Be hands on and work as required (answer phones, greet people)
- The maturity to manage private and confidential information
