Philanthropy Executive (Major Gifts)

The Organisation

Bush Heritage Australia protects the natural environment through the purchase and management of high conservation value reserves and through partnerships with Traditional Owners, agricultural landowners, and other conservation organisations.

With over 40,000 supporters Bush Heritage is funded primarily by private individuals who support their vision to protect Australia’s unique plants, animals and landscapes.

The Role

Reporting to the Philanthropy Team Leader you will be responsible for generating income from high net worth individuals, philanthropic foundations and corporates. You will;

• Successfully manage a portfolio of Bush Heritage’s most generous supporters
• Cultivate potential donors, matching them with projects that interest them
• Make “the ask” to secure significant donations followed by stewardship and recognition
• Work with the CEO and board members ensure they are engaged with supporters

Skills Required

Professionally you will have worked in roles managing donor or client relationships, either in a not-for-profit or commercial setting. You will have an interest in the Australian Bush and the work of Bush Heritage, perhaps having studied a related subject.

You will be highly organised, able to manage timelines and coordinate people. Your verbal and writing skills will be excellent, enabling you to communicate easily with donors and put together reports and project information.

Your success in this role will come from your dedication to your portfolio of donors and you will embrace the opportunity to travel and accompany them to Bush Heritage reserves and partnerships.
