The Client

Our client is a Christian congregation that operates in nearly 100 locations across four countries.

Their work focuses on bringing compassion, hospitality, peace and justice to people in cities, villages and remote rural areas in these countries through ministry, education and accommodation services.

The Role

The Assistant Accountant supports the Financial Accountant with the continuing development of systems, policies and procedures that will make the finance office the best possible provider of shared services to the congregation and related entities. The role is responsible for a broad range of tasks that includes;

• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Payroll
• Bank reconciliations
• General ledger maintenance
• Banking
• Reporting
• BAS returns
• Records management

Skills Required

The ideal candidate will have:

• Tertiary accounting qualifications
• Three years experience
• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables
• Experience with MYOB, Xero and payroll software (experience with Accpac or Wage Easy would be looked upon favourably)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated attention to detail
