An exciting opportunity to be part of Our Watch, established to drive nationwide change in the culture, behaviours and attitudes that lead to violence against women and their children. A member of the Senior Executive Team, the Director, Media and Communications reports to the Chief Executive Officer and leads a small media and communications team to:
• Develop, implement and evaluate communications and media strategy, ensuring the integration of organisational branding, media relations, social marketing and campaigns
• Provide high-level strategic advice to the CEO and Senior Executive Team; and the Chair of the Board and other staff as required.
• Build awareness of and engagement with the Our Watch brand through media and cost-effective public relations, including events, partnerships and online engagement
• Ensure a timely and effective response to media opportunities
• Support organisational business planning and decision making as an active participant of the Senior Executive Team.

 

About You

To be considered for this exciting opportunity you will possess:
• Relevant tertiary qualifications
• Leadership roles in media and communications with government or community sector organisations
• Great understanding of media engagement and exceptional behaviour change campaign management skills
• The ability to think strategically and entertain wide-ranging possibilities in developing a vision for the future
• High level people management skills and experience in developing a positive team culture that embraces cooperative and collaborative work practices
• Proven strong and positive partner, stakeholder and supplier relationships having built trust through consistent actions, values and communication,
• The ability to confidently convey ideas and information in a clear way, understanding and meeting the needs of different target audiences
