The University of Queensland’s Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) is an integrated multi-disciplinary research institute bringing together the skills of world-class researchers in the areas of bioengineering and nanotechnology.
Home to 450 researchers working at the interface of the biological, chemical and physical sciences, AIBN has a reputation of excellence in research, industry focus and the provision of a dynamic research environment.
These characteristics focus AIBN research efforts on developing new products, processes and devices for improving human health and quality of life, going beyond basic research to promote and develop the growth of innovative industries, benefiting both the Queensland and Australian economies.
In this newly created position, you will be responsible for leading the strategic development and execution of an ambitious philanthropic program. With specific focus on increasing engagement with high net-worth individuals, corporations, trusts and foundations, you will work closely with the Institute Director and senior management team to maximise funding to the Institute both now and into the future.
To be successful in this position, you will have a high level of energy and commitment, as well as a proactive and forthright style. Your extensive fundraising experience will ideally have been gained in the higher education sector, however, other relevant experience from within a broader not-for-profit or commercial setting will also be considered.
