Senior Leadership Role
Based in Melbourne

A unique institution at the heart of Melbourne’s iconic meeting place, Federation Square, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) celebrates, explores and promotes the moving image in all its forms – film, television, games and digital culture.  Welcoming over 1.45m visitors in 2015/16, ACMI is the most visited museum of the moving image in the world.

 

Not only a major cultural, tourism and learning attraction, ACMI is an integral element in Melbourne’s position as one of the world’s truly creative cities.  Its global perspective, reach and impact ranks it amongst the top 50 most attended galleries and museums in the world and its national and international touring program is one of the most successful in the region, with over 500,000 visitors in 15/16.

 

Through a vibrant calendar of major exhibitions, film programs, live events, creative workshops, education and online programs and supported by funding from the Victorian Government, ACMI is a national and international hub for screen culture innovation, debate and discussion, presenting and championing the art and culture of the moving image as it evolves both locally and globally.

 

Over the next three years ACMI is planning an ambitious program of renewal, as it positions itself in the forefront of 21st Century museum practice.  This is a unique opportunity to join ACMI at a pivotal time in its history.

 

Reporting to the Director & CEO and managing a small team, you will build an ambitious fundraising program for ACMI, securing and managing significant corporate and philanthropic partnerships, attracting grants and donations and initiating fundraising opportunities.

 

Your ability achieve strategic outcomes within a complex environment will be matched by your commercial acumen and strong leadership skills.  Developing strong relationships and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders is essential, as is your passion to communicate the vision of ACMI to a variety of audiences.
