We are a fast-growing organisation ready to broaden our fundraising strategy by increasing our reach, developing existing and new funding streams and continuing to grow our online community.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced fundraising professional with a track record of delivering successful fundraising results and revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have fundraising experience particularly in developing and executing mid & major donor fundraising programs and seeking grants from private foundations and ethical corporations.

The aim of the role is to ensure LTG’s financial security and maintain a steady growth of income by pursuing and succeeding in different avenues of fundraising. In particular the role will involve creating and managing relationships and communications with a variety of supporters including mid / high value donors, philanthropic foundations and organisational supporters. In addition the role will be responsible for implementing donor development and retention programs in order to maximise the overall effectiveness of our fundraising program.

To fill the role, you will be outgoing, flexible, resourceful and comfortable experimenting with new online tools and tactics to engage people. You have experience working independently, as well as in close coordination with a remote team and you share our aspirations for healthy communities and the protection of important land and water resources from unsafe mining. You will be an integral part of our team and will work closely with our Digital Communications, Operations & Campaign Coordinators.

This is a 12 month contract role with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Implement the LTGA fundraising strategy, with particular focus on the mid to major donor segment, and contribute to the evolution of the strategy over time;
  2. Develop and implement programs for identifying and nurturing mid level donors
  3. Take the lead for LTGA in coordinating & executing our Major Donor program with assistance from external consultants
  4. Assist with other fundraising activities including one-off Appeals & Regular giving programs
  5. Use & enhancement of systems and processes that will ensure the successful implementation of the LTGA fundraising strategy
  6. Assist in developing and executing the annual Lock the Gate Alliance Fundraising Plan and associated budget
  7. Provide regular, timely and accurate reports to the Campaign & Operations Coordinators
  8. Oversee the development of fundraising materials, including for donor care, direct mailers and online use.

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Commitment to the goals and values of Lock the Gate Alliance
  • Fundraising experience, especially in identifying prospective new opportunities and working with a broad fundraising portfolio
  • Ability to assist in the development and implementation of fundraising strategies and timelines
  • Strong IT/computing skills including extensive experience with CRM’s (preferably NationBuilder)
  • Experience in supporter communications and individual giving
  • Experience in networking and building relationships in the philanthropic community and managing major donor relationships
  • Experience in grant writing and networking with charitable foundations
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and an understanding of fundraising legislation
  • Experience in tying funder needs with organisation needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation and work as part of a small team
  • A self starter with an ability to work to tight deadlines
