The organisation
No to Violence & Men’s Referral Service (NTV/MRS) is focused on working with men to address the root causes of men’s violence against women. It is a crucial service delivery organisation that provides a men’s support line and referral service; oversight of behaviour change programs; and development of the workforce engaged in men’s behaviour change training. NTV/MRS is embarking on a significant phase of growth and transformation, making it an exciting time to join its team.
Role summary
You will assist with the development, implementation and communication of NTV/MRS’s strategy, policies and minimum standards, ensuring adherence of stakeholders across the male family violence sector. Your role will be critical to ensuring that NTV/MRS sets the benchmark and continues to lead as a major peak body within the family violence sector.
Your responsibilities will include:
- identifying the priority areas for policy development and commissioning the development of corporate and regulatory policies, guidance and procedures;
- delivering strategic policy advice to the CEO and Strategy Manager;
- coordinating policy and research within the male family violence sector;
- producing briefings, reports, consultation documents, board and committee papers and material for the website; and
- developing minimum standards by constructively managing stakeholder input.
Ensuring that you remain up-to-date in your knowledge of the family violence sector, particularly its relevant services and agencies and remaining abreast of new policies and practices will be essential to your success in the role.
Experience and skills required
You have professional qualifications and/or experience in the family violence sector, working in policy development/research, as a practitioner or in another relevant occupation.
An excellent written and verbal communicator, you also possess strong stakeholder management skills.
Other key criteria include:
- a demonstrable ability to research and identify key issues, develop them into policy and minimum standards, and communicate these to a range of internal and external stakeholders; and
- an understanding of issues relevant to engaging men who use family violence.
