Stakeholder Engagement Manager (VIC)

NDS is the national industry association for disability services, representing over 1000 non-government organisations. Collectively, our members operate several thousand services for Australians with all types of disability. NDS’s members range in size from small support groups to large multi-service organisations, and are located in every State and Territory across Australia.

Position Overview:

This position will lead the Victorian office communications and membership strategies in conjunction with our National Communications and Membership Teams.

Key roles and responsibilities:

• Provide strategic communication advice to the State Manager and for Victorian projects and member benefits.
• Lead, develop, manage and promote marketing and communication strategies, to build a positive organisational profile and brand for NDS Vic
• Network and engage successfully with a diverse range of stakeholders in the disability sector, government, business community and general public to enable the effective delivery of NDS communication strategies.
• Contribute to the development of corporate communication strategies and, in consultation with the national Corporate Communications Manager, ensure that corporate communication standards and branding are applied in all NDS Vic communications.
• Contribute to the Membership strategies and benefits in conjunction the National Membership Manager.
• Coordinate, write and edit all Victorian communications, including project specific publications and event promotions
• Manage content and development of social media and website copy
• Other duties as required.

Key Attributes:

1. Demonstrated strategic communications experience in a leadership role;
2. Demonstrable understanding of the NDIS and the broader disability services sector with the ability to interpret and contextualise relevant information and messages for the disability sector;
3. . Well-developed analytical skills and an ability to develop effective communication strategies targeted to a range of audiences and appropriate to the disability sector;
4. Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders;
5. Proven capacity to collaborate across multiple project areas;
6. High level of literacy in information management, communication and design technologies. Including desktop computers, word processing, website, social media platforms and design packages;
7. Tertiary Qualifications in a related discipline such as Marketing or Public Relations is highly desirable; and
8. Independent travel capability.
