OzChild’s purpose is to support vulnerable children and young people by providing healing, preventing abuse and neglect and strengthening families. OzChild delivers a range of diverse services aimed at improving life opportunities for children and young people including fostercare, kinship care, family services, education, disability and family law services.
ACT Together is a consortium between Barnardo’s, OzChild, The Australian Childhood Foundation, Premier Youth Works and Relationships Australia to deliver the Continuum of Care domain for the Australian Capital Territory. This domain brings together all of the service elements designed to support children and young people who cannot live with their birth families.
In this new role as Team Leader, ACT Together you will:
- Lead casework across a mix of kinship care and foster care: provide formal and informal support and supervision to a team of casework staff, identify gaps/direction in cases, identify and advocate for caregiver and client outcomes as necessary, ensure caregivers are appropriately supported, skilled, resourced and monitored.
- Ensure team cohesion and functioning: remain abreast of team dynamics, agency policies, systems, and procedures, and sector changes and initiatives.
- Service quality: undertake portfolios or working groups as required, ensure quality and standards are maintained.
- Management: provide a link between management and the team, participate in the program management group by identifying issues in the program, working to resolve these, implementing changes, and contributing to the planning and management of the program.
