About the organisation
About the role
• Join an empowering organisation, well positioned for growth
• Strategic role with opportunity to drive change and establish new business model
• Improve the lives of others living with a disability
Living My Way (LMW) empowers people with physical disabilities to live life as they choose, through self-directed living and support services. The organisation provides administrative, compliance and other services to people with disabilities as well as supporting their participants to employ their support workers, manage their funds, and comply with various pieces of government legislation and policy. The Living My Way program requires participants to design and deliver their own supports and services, putting them at the centre of decision making.
LMW has experienced significant growth over the last five years and will continue to do so. We need a COO capable of meeting the organisation’s growth opportunity and the associated challenges. Working closely with the CEO and Board Committee, this is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong operational and strategic planning experience to work across all areas of resource, financial, legal, compliance and risk management. The Chief Operating Officer will hold overall responsibility for policies and systems to drive and implement the organisation’s five-year strategic plan whilst achieving key board objectives.
The Chief Operating Officer will engage the organisation and its leadership team in the transition to a new growth business model and establish efficient systems and processes to facilitate the successful integration of the organisation’s financial and operating procedures.
You will have strong operational and strategic planning skills, with a demonstrated capacity for commercial success in a strategic leadership role. The Chief Operating Officer must be able to manage quality outcomes and stakeholder relationships in a competitive operating environment. While experience in the not-for-profit sector is desirable it is not essential, rather preparedness to engage in the work of both the organisation and its members is the key priority.
The Transition Director/Chief Operating Officer is one of several new roles within the organisation.
This full time role is based in Menai and may require some local and intra-state travel and after-hours networking opportunities.
