Independent and not-for-profit, The Wilderness Society relies on monthly donations from our members to continue our work protecting Australia’s unique nature and wildlife. Our in house fundraising teams have signed up tens of thousands of members who support the organisation both financially and otherwise.

A confident communicator, you are someone who is curious about the world and wants to change it for the better. You are an experienced fundraiser, a natural leader and you are interested in a challenging and rewarding role.
The Position
The Wilderness Society seeks a passionate leader to take over a powerful face-to-face fundraising team in Sydney. Based in our vibrant campaign centre, you will manage, lead and motivate a team of up to 10 Wilderness Defender
Campaigners to inspire the public to commit ongoing, one-off and non-financial support. You will play a vital role in our exciting campaigns and in growing the movement to protect Australia’s nature and fight the climate crisis.
- Base pay is $58,349 to $79,567 + bonuses +super
- Full time role, 37.5 hours weekly
- Potential to cover additional relocation costs for the right candidate
- Sydney based
The key responsibilities for this position include:
- Manage, lead and inspire the fundraising team
- Plan, budget and resource the team
- Interview and train new fundraisers
- Upskill and develop fundraisers
- Carry out HR and financial compliance activities
Key Selection Criteria:
Essential
- Commitment to TWS values
- Extensive face to face fundraising experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in managing, training and coaching a sales team
- Ability to work within set deadlines and achieve desired results in a fast paced work environment
- Ability to relate to people of all ages, financial and social backgrounds
Desirable
- A proven commitment to and understanding of the notfor- profit sector
- Knowledge of legal boundaries of fundraising
- Financial administration and budgeting experience
