Executive Director

The ICV is seeking a highly motivated and experienced management professional to provide ongoing leadership and direction to this peak community council. This important position will enact the Board’s vision and strategies and manage a variety of community services and programs.

About the role:

Reporting directly to the Board and managing a team, you will be able to drive and shape strategy through engagement and representation with a number of different industry stakeholders, community partners and member organisations.

To be considered, you will have proven people management skills and a strong focus on community engagement and services delivery. This role is for a leader with a proven track record in community leadership and managerial experience. A person of the upmost integrity, you will have established community networks, strong ability to cultivate respectful working relationships and abilities ensuring good governance.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work autonomously in a complex and demanding environment, with a high degree of responsibility and requirement to meet deadlines
Ability to successfully manage competing priorities and work well under pressure
Manage relationships, including required reporting, between various government, service agencies and industry stakeholders
Represent the views of the organisation at forums on behalf of the Board
Practical experience in managing and negotiating with a variety of stakeholders with diverse interests to meet organisational needs and objectives
Demonstrated ability to accept challenges and solve complex problems
Skilled in building productive relationships with all levels of government and industry demonstrating superior influencing, negotiation and diplomacy skills
Strong financial management skills, including the ability to develop, implement and manage the organisation’s budget
Experienced at leading, influencing and responding to a board of management
An understanding of and experience in working with the Muslim community in Victoria is highly desirable
Tertiary qualifications in a management related field or substantial equivalent experience is essential.
