Protecting the rights and wellbeing of every child, UNICEF Australia works for the survival, protection and development of children worldwide through fundraising, advocacy, education and international development programs.

Reporting to the CEO and managing a sizable team, this position is responsible for providing dynamic leadership to ensure UNICEF Australia realises the power and value of the UNICEF brand to maximise income and influence in support of UNICEF Australia’s ‘growth’ and ‘advocacy’ mandates.

Specifically you will

  • Contribute to UNICEF Australia’s overall strategy as a key member of the Executive Management Team and to lead the development and implementation of the organisation’s fundraising and communications strategy with UNICEF global
  • Recruit, retain and develop a high-performing and cohesive fundraising and communications team, providing empowering leadership at all times
  • Oversee and develop donor cultivation and stewardship
  • Lead brand development, marketing and communications strategies
  • Ensure that fundraising plans and budgets are delivered on time

 

Skills Required

  • 8+ years of successfully leading and developing high-volume fundraising programs with at least 5 years in a senior role managing fund raising, marketing and communications experts
  • Experience in the international NFP sector is advantageous
  • Expertise and clear experience in growing income, particularly through pledge (monthly giving) programs
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing effective fundraising strategic plans based on sound analysis of market research and data to achieve cost effective campaigns on time and within budget
  • Demonstration of digital savviness and fundraising innovation
  • Successful experience implementing leading edge strategies to leverage fundraising opportunities and achieve outstanding organisational goals
  • Demonstrated success in managing a diverse range of fundraising teams, including face to face suppliers to achieve agreed targets
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with experience managing complex budget management across multiple channels to achieve financial targets
  • High level presentation, communication and networking skills especially in optimising high level and key relationships with extensive networks and contacts
  • Superior stakeholder management skills
