About the Department
St Vincent’s Hospital Foundation is located on the Fitzroy campus in two office locations. The Foundation’s purpose is to support excellence in research, medical innovation and care by raising funds and creating awareness of the hospital in the community. The Foundation team is a diverse group of fundraisers with expertise in major gifts, direct mail, bequests, major events, community fundraising, digital fundraising, grants submissions to Trusts & Foundations and database administration.
About the Role
Supporting St Vincent’s Hospital’s ambitions for significant growth across our high-value, community and corporate fundraising, you will help to develop and deliver a comprehensive programme of tailored events that are designed to attract, engage and retain St Vincent’s supporters. You will be a senior member of St Vincent’s Foundation team, responsible for working across key programs such as major gifts, major appeal campaigns, community, corporate and bequests.
Duties
• Develop an events strategic and operational plan to deliver all events across the Foundation team.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, external stakeholders and consultants to support the events programme as required.
• Lead and manage the Events team – Events Co-ordinator and Community Fundraising Co-ordinator, building capacity and capability to ensure the delivery of a responsive and professional service.
• In consultation with Foundation Director, Deputy Director and other key team members lead, identify and develop a donor relations events program to support successful engagement and stewardship activity.
• Manage the Community Fundraising Co-ordinator to build relationships and maximise opportunities for increased engagement and income generation across community supporters.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• 5 years+ experience in managing events
• Experience in the not-for-profit sector
• Excellent planning skills including project management
• Exceptional negotiation skills
• Good team building and leadership qualities
• Ability to work at all levels of the organisation
• Successful management of a broad range of events across Community fundraising, Corporate and Major donor activities
