The organisation
No to Violence & Men’s Referral Service (NTV/MRS) is focused on working with men to address the root causes of men’s violence against women. It is a crucial service delivery organisation that provides a men’s support line and referral service; oversight of behaviour change programs; and development of the workforce engaged in men’s behaviour change training. NTV/MRS is embarking on a significant phase of growth and transformation, making it an exciting time to join its executive team.
Role summary
You will provide strategic direction to enable the Men’s Referral Service help lines run with optimum efficiency and effectiveness “24/7”. A focus will be on training, supporting, guiding and mentoring the Telephone Referral Workers, and providing program management and clinical support to the team.
Your responsibilities will also include:
- implementing and delivering on NTV/MRS’s strategic business plans in relation to response to male family violence and referral pathways;
- contributing to continuous improvement of existing services and programs and developing new alternatives to meet client needs;
- managing and enhancing relationships with partner organisations and funding bodies;
- representing NTV/MRS and presenting to external stakeholders (some travel will be required);
- ensuring statutory requirements and quality assurance standards are adhered to; and
- data gathering, statistical analysis and reporting.
You will work a fortnightly shift cycle including alternate weekends.
Experience and skills required
Possessing appropriate qualifications in social work, community development or similar, you are working as a practitioner in the Human/Social Services sector.
Experience or exposure to
- managing help lines;
- the Family Violence area;
- training; and
- working in or interacting with government agencies
will all be highly regarded.
